well last weekend me, my friend and my old man were going the our cabin and was running the dog on the way therewe were just about to pick her up when she walked into the tire of the truck. now the tire didn't go over top of her but she got some serious road rash. so $167.27 later she's in winnipeg at the vet. so today i just got her back and the poor thing's got about 15 differnt cuts one of them had to be stiched and a cone on her head and she has a limp. o well i guess she learnt the hard way.
if anybody else has a dog story please share

i'll post pics later

My dog is scared of thunder. If he is inside the house in his pen when it thunders, he will go nuts. I will have to replace a baby gate every summer from him. He would try to either jump over it or chew threw it . It is something he always been afraid of.

My 6 month old chocolate Lab ate 3 remotes this week, the LG surround sound remote, the Starchoice satelite and the RCA TV remote. Good thing it wasn't the remote for the good TV! Does this count as a dog story? I know it's my fault for not keeping a closer eye on her but....:slap:

Let me get this straight, you were exercising your dog by letting her chase the Truck? And it was the dogs fault for getting run over?
I dunno what I am missing here but at first glance it sure sounds foolish on several levels and I am mildly surprised that you did not tie her to the trailer hitch so she did not fall behind!

To bad about your dog. A lesson well learned as to how not to exercise your dog. You are lucky your dog only received lusterations.
It has been beastly hot here and I see these guys exercising their dogs in the heat of the day. One ####ing moron was out for a run and his dog, who obviously had never missed the feed bag to many times, was running behind with it's tung almost dragging on the ground. The poor bugger is so dedicated to it's master that it will run until it drops. What the hell are some people thinking.

well accually the dog runs ahead of the truck and knows where to go and i did say the dog walked into the tire but she doesn't know any better and it was our fault that that we see she was too tired to run and didn't pick her up sooner.

whoever said that chocolate is bad for dogs was lying or just doesn' know what they were talking about, my dog ate a big bowl of chacolates when she was like 1/2 year old and nothing happpened

one of my biggest pet peeves is watching some idiot driving along the road while his dog runs along side the truck. get out and walk or run with your dog you lazy pos!!! The vet should have phoned the SPCA and let them have your dog and see if it would end up with someone who has enough energy to properly exercise the poor bugger.

Don't know much about dogs do you?

Being a judgmental prick adds nothing to the discussion either. My dogs run 30kph or faster and go a couple of km at that speed, and don't want to come back into the truck. Let's see you keep up with them, Mr. Trackstar.

This post adds nothing to this discussion.

I run my dogs every day, not chase them with a truck. If mine aren't ran every day well they'll kind of destroy the house. Siberian's have a lot of energy and need to be exercised.

During the 2006 second week of the deer season we ran a push through a section of bush we were fairly confident was holding a large buck.

Our best hound "Holly" and a couple others were used for the push. Sure enough about 20 minutes in to the hunt a chase began. We all listened as the chase continued, but to our surprise no one saw the deer or the dogs......

It seemed the deer and chase went through a low section that was mostly swamp. The buck got away and the houds were no where to be heard.

We called off the hunt and went looking for the dogs. All were located except "Holly". As we looked for her we could hear barking way off, almost seemed a few miles away. After several minutes the barking stopped.

We looked and looked with no luck. So back to the camp we went. After an hour or so "Holly" came back. She was limping and looked rather haggared.

After inspecting her we found puncture wounds on both sides of her body as well as an entry wound with no exit. She was in pretty rough shape.

A few of the guys figured someone had taken a shot at her, but the wounds looked to smooth to be from a projectile.

Well it was then we got word from a nighbor that there had been a huge 12 point buck hit a few miles from camp. The Buck was struck on the hind quarters which knocked it down. A small hound was seen close to the buck after it dropped.

It seemed the buck had gored "Holly" twice while after it went down. Crazy dog went right at the buck... Im sure she was pissed that we werent there to finish the job.

We pumped her full of penecilin for a couple days and she was ready to hunt on the last day, altho she was slower than before she wouldnt stay tied up for the last hunt.

After all that the poor thing was attacked by wolves and eaten during the winter 06-07, Im sure she put up a good fight tho........
