I've been seeing these coyotes while at work all winter and managed to call one in December but I blew it. Today was really windy and I decided to head further east than I usually do because that is where I've been seeing them more regularly.

Walked about 800 yards to the head of this small river and and as I was getting the Foxpro set my brother walked around the point to watch down river. He spotted this yote on the ice headed away from us. We set up both watching him sit around with the ravens . I tried a few various sounds from rabbit to coyote vocals but this one wasn't interested at all and eventually moved away headed back towards our truck.

We hustled back that way on the opposite shore and kept an eye out for him. We got back to the exit point and were standing around wondering if we passed by it or it was still ahead of us. About 2 mins later this one walked on the ice directly across from us. As soon as she stopped I gave it 90 gr of Speer TNT at 150 yards. She started the spin then ran 50 yards toward us and piled up on the edge of the ice. Nice 25lb female with some rubbing.

We set up at the O and the two "x" represent the yote.

About what time of year do coyotes start to blow their winter coat? The only ones I have harvested have been Dec-Feb ones and they were nice and fluffy.

I got a big male last Saturday. I had a road killed deer behind the house for two months and it wasn't touched but they came close several times. I pretty well gave up and then happened to look out the window and he was pulling on the deer. I had it tied to a post. 45 lbs. We'd had them here (NS) around 60 lbs confirmed, many claims of real heavy ones but hard to prove. Pic to follow.

Good stuff.lol

DIdnt get out very much at all this season. Its almost like the older I get, the less walking I wanna do. lol
