Headed out this morning after chores into -25 with a light Northeast wind. I had time for 1 stand and went to a spot that has produced in the past.

The dot in the pic is where I sat with the foxpro 75 yards out onto the lake and the wind in my face.

After 3 mins of flying squirrel distress I paused for a bit and went into nutty nuthatch on the Foxpro Fusion.

3 mins into that sequence I paused that sound and had a look around. This coyote had popped out around the point and skirted the island towards the decoy. I didn't spot him until he was 100 yards away and crossing infront locked onto the decoy. Another confirmation for me for having the decoy. Even after I lip squeaked him to a stop and he looked right at me he still came in some more towards the decoy before I shot.

The 140 RDF from my 260 CTR was pretty decisive on this 30lb male. After this I will stick with the 223 as it has proven to be enough on wolves and not overkill on the smaller stuff.

This is my view from the stand through my natural cover.
