Got this in the mail this week. X block JP Sauer. Last full letter block for them. Y block ended around 300. Assembled in December 1944 or early 1945. Matching, Unmessed with. Sauer continued to fully serial number the guns Til the bitter end.
Looks old. I think they sell new guns bows. I can probably recycle that one for you and trade ya for a nice 10/22 takedown. Shoots massive 22 long rifle.

I would have thought a late bcd 44 would have been dual blued phosphate, stamped bands with far fewer serial numbers.
Is the floorplate unnumbered and LU marked?
