Hey gang...

I know what you're thinking..."tactical Enfield? Huh?"

Well, for your consideration, I have the next in the line of my custom built lee Enfield rifles.

It's a 1942 English No.4 Mk.1 with a 22" x 1.10" no-taper Shilen CM match bull barrel. It is chambered in 45 Long Colt. I refinished a nice sporter stock, and channeled it to free float the big barrel. Added a lace-on leather cheek piece, used one of the no-smith scope mounts with a minty Weaver k10 scope.

Why 45 Long Colt you say? Well, I had the .451 barrel blank already, and instead of building another 45acp rifle, I thought that if would be fun to do 45lc, knowing the I could hot-load the ammo based on how big and strong the action and barrel are.

I had Rodger at Dark International hot blue the barrel and action to a satin finish...put her all together today. Looking forward to getting out and throwing some 300gr rounds down range! She ought to be a hard hitter! Have a look, and let me know what you think.

That barrel is huge! What's it measure across at the muzzle?

Nice leather cheek pad.

Make sure you post a range report.

Curious about the magazine !......

Are you curious about the size of it or if it feeds 45 rounds?

I'll answer both questions...as for length, it is a manufactured short mag made in Japan to be a 5 rounder...never seen one before I found it at a gun show a few months ago.

As for feed, it does not right now. I do however have a plan...a Dessert Eagle 44mag magazine will take 45lc rounds...so the plan is to machine a hole in the bottom of the enfield mag, position the pistol mag so it will feed, and weld it in place.
