Laugo Arms Alien 9mm

Back to the Alien. The big debate now on IPSC sites is which division it will fit into. It looks like none or all of them, except revolver. It's now up to the international governing body to decide. My shot in the dark guess is Standard. But they are trying for production. Interesting problem and I still want one.

But in any event...I love the innovation and this gun looks interesting. Doesn't seem to be any muzzle rise at all. I am curious about longevity though...the upper seems fairly thin in some spots.

Thank you T.I. for bringing these in. I would buy and shoot one of these in IPSC in a hot second. However, the very limited release seems like a cheap ploy to create a desperate panic type buying frenzy for those with a lot of money. Granted it comes with a lot of accessories, it is still more than a STI DVC open gun by a thousand. Prices may come down but you and the company are pricing yourselves out of the market for any but the most affluent shooters who typically aren't at the top of their divisions so, I love it but seriously, you could sell hundreds at a 4K price point. And thats not a small chunk of change.

I hope your marketing strategy works out needless to say I am disappointed.

New for 2020 is what's called the Performance model, which is just the pistol with case, magazine, and cleaning kit, priced at $4899 :)

I handled one at SHOT. Nice handling gun with a lot of flexibility. However the cheapest version is $4000 US & the limited first model kits are $5000 US. Also uses proprietary mags which won't be cheap. A down side is that the barrel is pinned to the frame and the rep said a barrel change would require a trip back to a repair depot. Given the level of warranty service in Canada I wouldn't even want to guess as to how long it would be out of action if it needed a barrel change. That's a deal breaker for me.

The folks making these are pretty tuned in, apparently you can take a red dot on a rail, zero it on one gun, move it to another gun and it'll hold zero. The Czechs have always been very, very good at this stuff and seem to have an endless ability to innovate and design something different that works.

CAD Pricing is significantly better then USA, starting at $4899 CAD here. Mags are $79ea but they are all all-metal and come with a thick aluminum baseplate extension, very high quality.

We pride ourselves in quick warranty/service times, 1-2 weeks on average vs the 2-6+ months you often see other places

Good to know.
