LAV & Company talk Glocks

I don't like vickers and his training system but what they said here I agree with 100%. that grip plug is a nice add on

I could give a #### what those guys have to say. Id listen to Hickok45 first. Some of those guys are just trying to sell their own ####.

Wow, 3 ex- SF, Combat Veterans of both Black and Green Ops, with SF instructor qualifications, who actively teach Tier One operators, one of whom was American Pistolsmith of the Year, 2 of whom worked with HK to design the HK45 and HK416, while the third was busy training Delta Operators, and they don't get any respect - what chance does anyone else have? I'm humbled by the ego of my colleagues. Frankly these guys have forgotten more about shooting than 99 percent of us will ever know.

They were not giving pistol instruction in the vídeo, they were selling products period. If you think they were not your naive. That is my point. Outside of some decent sights, glocks are perfect out of the box. They dont need that aftermarket #### they are trying to sell. Its no different then rob leatham endorsing springfield.

I would agree. Although, they do stress that the accessories they use do not affect reliability which is paramount.

You know what the best thing is about having extensive experience with and knowledge on a particular subject?

You end up knowing enough to tell what good advice looks like, and what bad advice looks like, regardless of the source. You just know enough about the information that you're able to distinguish a lot of the critical variables.

It makes you feel like the years of study and effort you put in were worthwhile.

I agree Lav was plugging his stuff with Tangodown, but I'm not so sure they all work for Trijicon, Ameriglow, Heinie, Warren Tactical, Novak, Crimson Trace, Grip Force, Guardian, Rodger's, and Arandondo?
Do they work for Glock too since they were endorsing Glocks as a whole along with recommending sticking to OEM mags, springs and trigger (Hack)?

To you they may be, but I think others (and myself) would disagree.
I think they made that pretty clear with repeated comments such as:
'Pick and choose what works' and 'dress the gun on what you need'

Personally, I'll take the advice of two former SF troopers and a known SME on the subject over CGN ass-hattery 10 out of 10. YMMV

I thought it was informative. Someone might not have known of a product that would be perfect for them until watching this video. Yes, functionally Glocks are very good out of the box, but that doesn't mean gun enthusiasts can't play around with different parts and add ons to see what works best FOR THEM. For many (myself included) this is a hobby, and half the fun is all the accessories and gadgets. It's like taking a bone stock AR-15 with carry handle irons and saying "You don't need all that after market junk". While this may be true, many will go and buy accessories and parts they want and not necessarily need (hmm...I recall hearing that very same theme elsewhere).

In the end, it's your money, do what you want with it. I've seen some pretty interesting guns at my range and I won't judge someone because I can be just as bad and I like tinkering.

Have to agree with that sentiment.

Like anything i discard the crap and use whats useful. That goes for vickers and the boys as well as CGN.

No they weren't, they were giving advice. Not once did I hear "buy this or your #### will fall off" and they were all offering the same advice that none of the mods were essential. As for Hickok45, last I check, although his videos are entertaining and demonstrate the fact that he is quite an awesome shot I'd tend to take advice on a combat-oriented topic from guys who've actually shot folks for real and not just on COD (in the interest of full disclosure, I can't say that Hickok45 actually plays COD - I'm going to guess not)...

Planning on shooting some folks for real are ya? I shoot paper, im not in combat or law enforcement. So ill stick with hickok45. I bet he is a better shot then you and has far more experience to boot.

Im not knocking these guys due to their experience, post some videos of pistol instruction and im all ears. But this is a video about selling their own ####, and it was put up as if somebody out their should take their advice. They get paid for what they endorse. Ill take hickok45 who is a Glock guy thats 6 foot 8 or something, and doesnt need a single gadget to make his glock run to his liking. Outside of some talon grips lol.

Really?

Why don't you give us a quick list of which of those companies are paying Ken and Dave for their endorsements?

I'm interested to hear this. It's always somewhat entertaining to watch guys try to come up with stuff when they don't actually have any information.

Here, I'll start you off: Ken did some consulting for Crimson Trace about a decade ago, for which they paid him, back then. Are they still paying him or what?

And if you don't know, why exactly are you talking?

you think vickers isnt selling #### in this video? I never understand why you worship these guys and take whatever they say as god like ####. We are in Canada, we can shoot paper period. Why are you not endorsing IPSC champs?

You think they are the only guys with some combat experience. There are tonnes in the USA. Mac on the Military arms channel, is just as informative. I like Hickok45 cause he is a regular joe, a teacher, a civilian who loves firearms. You get an honest opinion from him. I can see the egos in those three guys, they are so big they can barley stand next to one another.

a. you just never know;

b. you'd probably win that bet, but I'm better than average according to some folks;

What I was getting at was that the Glock is primarily intended as a combat piece, regardless of what folks use it for, therefore I'd more seriously consider advice about if from someone who used is as intended. Just like if I was thinking of ISU or Olympic rimfire I'd talk to Linda Thom or John Rochon...
