So this came to my attention on another forum, while I can "take or leave" AR folding stocks, this on seem to be well made. I can see where this would be useful in the transportation of the firearm. YMMV.

For me it seems like a good option for transportation purposes. Just wondering if you could use with a 11" upper?, and not running into problems with the overall length?

Meh.
Pull two pins and you have an even shorter package.
This might appeal to guys jumping with guns, but anyone else? Not so sure.

The action's a little less open to dirt etc, though.

I have never liked splitting my receivers to pack up a gun. Although maybe that'd just a personal quirk.

At any rate, a folding stock is about 74th on the list of "ought to haves" on a carbine - even my 58s have fixed (actually, standard AR) stocks.

But once in a while, I think...hmm. A backpackable AR, for riding to the range on a motorcycle, without splitting the receivers. Might be nice, in an offhand sort of way.

Well, it's got appeal for us guys who have an MDT LSS or TAC-21 chassis. Being able to stick a folder on one of those would be great.

The only problem I have with the Law folder is that it relies upon having a bolt carrier to attach to, and renders you unable to quickly separate upper and lower receivers when installed.

I would imagine it could be redesigned to not rely on a BCG extension, and that would let it be used on rifles that use AR stocks but lack a BCG.

It's already restricted, don't think you have to worry about overall length. Same classification as a pistol.

I don't really see any point since you can't fire it folded and both my Swiss (sold) and HK fold and can be fired folded and I never fold them, you can't hit anything with them folded. Transport makes no difference to me since I just put them in a case big enough or throw them on the seat of the truck since they are non restricted. The motorcycle carry is about the only thing I can see it being handy for but an AR still needs to be locked into something and as has already been said it's smaller, easier, and cheaper to push 2 pins.
If you had an AR with a recoil system that didn't use the buffer it would make more sense but I can only think of one piston rifle design that has a recoil system that would work (ZM).

Be sure to post lots of pics if you get one as it looks cool but for me it isn't worth the money.

I see your point, I'm not really too concerned with the firing "folded" aspect. When I first saw this, I was interested since I live in an "environment" where coming & going" needs to be "discreet". This will enable me to transport my AR in a "discreet" gym style bag without taking it apart, and for me that's enough. If I lived in a different "environment" without "neighbors" then a simple rifle case would do. Thanks for the comments. Cheers

As long as you have it trigger locked in a locked case then I don't understand why you need to be so discrete. For all your neighbors know you have a guitar or whatever in the case. If they call the police because they think you have a gun you have nothing to worry about since it isn't illegal to own or transport them. It may be a pain in the ass the first time the police come but once you show them your ATT and that the rifle is being transported legally you have nothing to worry about. Thank you officer have a nice day.
Unless you live in the ghetto and don't want the local gang bangers to know you own firearms so they don't try to break in and steal them while you're at work. In which case it may be time to think about moving.

My neighbors have never cared at all, even when I lived in the city, some days I have to make 4 or 5 trips back and forth to the house carrying rifle cases, pistol cases, uncased non restricted black rifles, ammo boxes and range bag, the back seat of my truck is pretty full on a good range day.

If your really that worried then I'd just separate the upper and lower and put them in a bag, just remember that you still need to figure out a way to lock the bag closed to be legal.

Good points, however the goal is to remain as "anonymous" as possible. I want to remain the "grey man" so to speak. Thanks
