layout goose blinds

simple goose chair. A simple goose chair works best for me. I call them in and they try to land right on top of me. I just sit in between the decoys. With a goose chair you also don’t have to worry about blending in, wondering if you have the right color and consistency camo’ etc’.

AJ - Take a look at the Avery Finisher in Khaki color. I suspect you may be in the Peace Country and hunt pea fields. Khaki is the color. A friend from Alaska spent a lot of time researching makes and models and he chose the Avery. It's not the most expensive but pretty good bang for the buck. They have loops on them to put grass in and Avery reccomends rubbing mud on them and they blend in to peas nicely. My friend managed to buy his for $150 US but the cheapest I could find were $200 US. I've seen them work and I was impressed.

Final Approach SUB. Really well made and lots of room inside. 4 pins to assemble and it folds up to about 40" square and about 4" thick. If you can try some different ones out. I've been really happy with this one.

Early season willow blinds, then on to goose chairs when the leaves are all gone and finally finish up with bail blinds when parkas and insulated bibs are worn. Don't get stuck with one idea, change as the season progresses and the birds become wiser.

taffman , I use or have used all of the above. I have a blind of old corn stalks that i use as well. I have just started to use layout blinds, we seem to have had some good luck. One of the blinds seemed a little green so I coverewd it with a pea rug, a burlap sack with pea straw gleued to it,That seemed to help. There are so many blinds so if I am going to add to what I have, its good to know what works. Thanks again AJ
