LAZERUS2000 will NOT be posting as much in the Battle Rifle Section in the New Year

Don't worry all of you Laz2000 will be back because this is the most helpful and friendly forum on the CGNutz board (thanks to kind people like Laz, also). Yeah, I own an M14, but I hardly shoot it, since it's used for teaching purposes! My AR gets all the work for my competitions in Service Rifle and Service CQB.

I hardly lurk over in the Black/Green Rifles section because I'm frequently having to sort out all kinds of 'interesting' personalities (read: banning goofy posts). I quite like it here better! :D

Barney

Is there a way I convert an M14 to .223?

Yeah, there's a couple pretty touchy egos over there...practically every time I'm in there I end up rolling my eyes at one tiny dicked child or another, if you take my meaning.

Thanks for sharing your expertise with this board.

Who knows, maybe one day I too will join you on the dark and plastic side, but not for now..:D

 Give up one of these for a sub caliber plastic wanna be!

Did you see this article in Army Times Laz? Not that it matters to Canadian Zombie hunters, but hey, when I read this I prefer the simplicity, effectiveness and cost of the M14 platform more and more. I can appreciate your background and military experience, but don't you think you are making the same mistake they did in 1957? Hmmmm?

I'll never sell my soul to the dark side
You gotta love your toys and when the love is gone it's time to move on
Enjoy your new/old pursuits with the AR

No, different guy, if you want to compare, Laz is "open source," M14 Doctor is Microsoft. Heh heh...jk.

I don't get that comment... Some of you may not have been on here when I starrted the first of many free monthly M14 clinics in my home a few years ago, ending this past spring.
Through those clinics I enjoyed the assistance of powmia56, Doc911, Misanthropist and Lazerus2000, who all contributed equally to what we affectionately refer to as the West Coast M14 Support Group.
I have been unable to find a suitable location to resume free clinics as my residence is not suitable for such events.
M14Doctor is a business catering to and specializing in the M14 platform, my previous name here is 45ACPKING but you can call me Thomas :D
And to all local gunnutz, there will be a return of regular clinics once I've hammered out some details with a proposed new location.

Sorry for the hijak :D

You have always generously shared your hard won experience and knowledge on this forum Laz - and represent the best among us. Those of us who respect the M14 and the men who use them - well, we thank you most sincerely. The M14 platform is not for everyone. It requires knowledge and care - and newbies get that from the experienced guys who share with us. By attending your clinics and reading your stickies, three guys in our family have moved forward confidently with this magnificent battle rifle. We were on the range today - and it was a great day. And that's what this forum is all about.

I miss those days.:sigh:
Thanks for putting them on Thomas

Admit it Laz, your getting old the the M14 is just getting too heavy :p

Next thing is you getting into trikes because you don't have to worry about that kick stand thingy ;)

I received my M14 back from Laz yesterday (Jan.11, 2010). :dancingbanana:
Before xmas, he did tell me that my rifle would be one the last M14 builds from him.
So I feel very lucky and priviledged to have had my baby pampered by his expert hands and wisdomful spirit.
Thank you again Lazerus :)

BTW, here's a pic of my M14... :D
