LCW 7.62x39 Nail Test

My nail test started yesterday and shows no sign of rust in 70% RH. I used low alloy wire to give rust the best possible chance.

I am also discussing testing with SGS to see if we can have it done locally.

I believe HP White did the previous test.

Got my FMJs yest. Gonna test it the lazy way, shoot it in the XCR, throw it back in the safe unclean. Fully expect it will be as rust free as with HPs and MFSs.

:) to a min.
Lets try and keep the nasty sarcasm to a minimum, if we can.

Here is our latest nail test, using low alloy tie wire to ensure easy rusting. Approx 70% humidity:

Here are the previous lab reports from 2011 after the US importer had the ammo tested:

Great to hear. Hope this puts the final nail on the nasty sarcasm coffin.

Now to test for accuracy, hopefully the HPs and FMJs will match the MFS performance.

Thanks for clearing this up! I was concerned b/c I got a bunch of "Non-corrosive" a few years back from a different sponsor, that was, in fact, quite corrosive. Have a very rusted sks to prove it. Luckily, we can treat the sks as disposable, so I just got another....

Always look for the words "non-corrosive" on the packaging. I have yet to see anything that says NC on the box show up as corrosive

CanAm went beyond due diligence in providing prove for product labelled non-corrosive. Imagine having to proof every product label is correct.
Regardless of the outcome, that right there is called due dilligence - everyone can put the pitchforks down!!

Thanks for clearing this up CanAm! My case is en route to me as we speak, can't wait to get out and shoot!
Also OP was being helpful, not trying to stir anything up. Thanks for doing the original test.

Yet another example of the superior, caring service provided on a daily basis by the crew at Canada Ammo.
This is why I keep coming back and why those who have not purchased through CanAm; should! I have yet to experience a scenario where they have not been totally up front with their clients or made good on something gone wrong.

Thanks CanAm!

Picked up a case of HP at the show in Chilliwack and looking forward to trying them out!

Hey , easy solution :) Don't shoot real ammo. Buy pellet guns...
And about corrosive or not,... I clean my guns after each range visit, no problem here. And the weather is improving, so my CanAm order is on the way...

I think the point of this is that we are buying it at a PREMIUM because its non corrosive

Well it's entirely possible I screwed up one way or another. I started another test yesterday with only lcw and s&b nails and am leaving for the weekend, so I'll see what that's like when I get back. But it's awesome that Canam went that extra mile and provided their own results. Hopefully mine turn out different this time! Fingers crossed.

My test with Romanian surplus, Norinco non-corrosive and LCW HP only shows rust on nail detonated with the Romanian primer. Both the Norinco and LCW are still rust free. Humidity is almost nil here in Saskatchewan, but I am confident that we shouldn't worry.
