LE 1 Buttstock

I have a 1896 L.E. 1 and wondering if the buttstock from a No1 MkIII will fit or can be made to fit. I don't have one to try and don't want to buy one unless there is a good chance of making it fit. Not worried about being original, looks like the barrel has already been cut and bolt is not matching.

Yup it will work, the butt plate will be incorrect but gets the rifle shooting though

Make sure that if you use a No.1 rifle butt stock, or even one from a No.4, that you use the correct bolt length for the butt.

The MLE stock bolt is a bit longer than the Sht.LE and later ones, so it wont work without a stack of washers.
