LE #5 flash hider removal

Is the orginal one damaged? I don't know why else you would want to remove it but it is held on with 2 pins along with the whole front sight assembly. It would be pretty darn hard to get it off me thinks.

I've seen it measured with and without the flashhider as well. Pretty much it is removable but not easily. I think there was a thread a few weeks ago where someone was getting frustrated with the difficulty of trying to knock the pins out to remove his.

I have sporter built by Golden State Arms that has a flash hider and it is held on with a Allen screw. I am looking at a Jungle Carbine that's for sale. But, I am wondering if it has been pieced together. It not cheap if you know what I mean.

Here is a pic. You can see the two pins holding on the whole front assembly right below the front sight protector.

Interesting, my sporter has #4 barrel/sight protector and the flash hider slides over the bayonet lugs. How do you move the blade on the # 4 and 5 ???
