lead bullets in SIG 220

I put 50 rounds of Wolf reloads and 50 rounds of my own reloads today,no issues period,I haven't cleaned it yet. My load was 230gr LRN (Wolf),Clays 3.9gr,CCI SP primers.1.250" OAL,mixed brass, this load felt very mellow, temps were around -2c,no chrono available,I might shorten them up to 1.200". This was in my new Sig P220R Elite, first time out,the rifling is standard so lead won't be a issue, pretty accurate.

I think the only real problem with lead bullets in any pistol is if you're firing at velocities of about 1000 ft/sec. or higher. If so, eventually you'll see leading in the barrel that will seriously degrade accuracy, and require a great deal of effort to get out. The lead is literally soldered to the interior surface of the barrel. Years ago, when I went through a cast bullet phase, I found that gas checks on the bases of the bullets helped a lot. But eventually I went back to jacketed bullets.

tried it in a 226 ran 200 rounds through it, no problems other than lead build up which took effort to clean out, if your ruin the barrel its a 280 replacement from questar, no big deal, if its a range gun fire away, you are going to have to shoot a lot of rounds through it before you absolutely ruin it. I think speed has something to do with it too. too fast leaves more lead due to heat, so you may want to slow your bullet down. not sure. as I am not an expert.
