I need bullets sized .431 in lead for a 44 revolver. Currently, I have .430 lswc from DRG. They drop through the cylinder throats without resistance. Both DRG and Wolf sell up to .430 only. I have a significant amount of leading and have tried different gunpowders and loads with the same results - excessive leading and this affects accuracy after a few shots. Short of casting myself, does anyone know where .431 lead bullets could be purchased? Thanks.

I'm told R&R bullets will do custom sizing but don't know how large they can go; depends on their moulds.
Might also be able to find a forum member who casts oversized bullets that will sell them.

Casting your own is the way to go. Get a mold that casts .433 and get yourself a sizer that makes them as big as you need them. I have a .433 from accurate molds and a .432 from NOE. Those two do everything I need in revolvers and lever actions.

A 7/16" hole punch can be used to cut wads from a Styrofoam meat tray, which can be placed between the powder and bullet. This might help, though it is a bit more labour-intensive.

Leading is caused by trying to drive cast bullets too fast, not the diameter of the bullet. In any case, 1 thou won't make any difference.
The cylinder throats don't matter either. The barrel does.
It a BP revolver?

I own two moulds for gas checked 240 grain bullets . I always size them to .431"
I have even been thinking of selling my less favorite of the two moulds.

It is funny that what I consider is such a common cast bullet is so difficult for you to find.
I am out of gas checks right now, but if you pm me I can send you a few bullets to try.
At least then, you will know if you are on the right track.
