Lead Hardness and Powdercoating

Hey everyone a question... does it matter if your lead is on the soft side if you plan on powder coating? I will be shooting .45. Thanks.

As far as I know lead hardness becomes less of an issue when PCing.

45 ACP is low pressure to begin with. I don't believe a hard alloy is required at all. 45ACP should be very forgiving for hardness.

Thanks, im using range lead so I will have no idea what the hardness will be, and I am too cheap (broke) to get a tester.

i haven't used pure lead with powder coated 45acp but mine is around 50/50 pure to WW. no issues shooting it in 45acp coated or traditional lubed. bullet diameter is more important.

I cast my .45 bullets out of range scrap from an indoor pistol/.22 range and I don't encounter much leading using alox, I can't see you having any problems with powder coating.
