Lead mining

Our club looked into it, but there were no promises of any sort, vague details...we on the board decided it seemed to be an unfruitful venture for our small two trap club, and therefore did not proceed.

Don't know who does it but bought and reloaded some reclaimed shot out of Ontario a few years back and it was IMO good for crow shooting and nothing else
Cheers

Thanks Spank.

When I posted my comment, I just assumed that everyone reading this thread would have the same common sense and basic math skills as Beretta687EELL.

Next time I'll be more specific. LOL

Context is everything... ain't it...

Its funny on CGN how a post can get sidetracked. I guess what I was originally wanting to know was does anyone know any of the companies in Canada that are doing the mining at clubs.

Weird thread... what's it about, anyways?

How would lead mining work anyway? I'm guessing putting berms through a sort of mesh sifting machine and then separating from pebbles/twigs/etc somehow?

They do soil samples and see where the lead is concentrated. Then they calculate how much they expect to recover and give you an estimate of what they think is there and offer an approximate figure based on that expectation. The final payment is based on what they actually recover. They basically, dig up the soil, sift it and then put it back. The company that we spoke with is MT2 ... google it, as every time I post a link, it gets deleted. They were working out of Sarnia, Ontario, but appear to be a US based company and may do BC.
