I've got a considerable amount of lead I'd like to get rid of i'm just not sure what its worth or how hard it is to come by. I may also be interested in trading it but still i need to know an approximate value. So Whats a pound of lead go for these days (factoring in how hard it might be to come by)?

If you look over on the Castboolits site, there is a day chart from Kitco metals displayed at the top of the page.
Pure lead is about a buck fifteen a pound. That's minus shipping, and you gotta get someone to sell it to you for that...
IIRC, Rotometals sells ingots of pure, and alloyed lead. There are a couple others too.
It'll net you maybe 10 cents a pound at the scrap dealer, so somewhere between there and the list price of lead plus shipping into your area, should be where you start looking.

If it's wheel weight lead, I'd say you should be able to get around a buck a pound for it. I'd give you that for it if you were in my neck of the woods. I'm guessing NWO is North West Ontario.

Here the local scrap dealer buys at 30 cents and sells for 80. The index price is over $1.00.
If you have clean ingots you will get your best price from reloaders who cast. I have found it is harder to sell than I thought. The cost of shipping is the problem in Canada. Lead is heavy and there don't seem to many casters who can't acquire lead.
I also have way more lead than I need, but I keep collecting it.

My lead is very clean, not wheel weights. Its old splice cases from back when telephone lines were under air pressure. About 20-25 lbs solid cases. I'll probably try to get 1.00 to 1.50 a pound, but i'll look for a local sale. (north western Ontario)
