Lead prices

that depends on how much time and equipment you have to scrounge, sort, cast some for yourself. Scrap lead can be had for anywhere from $ 0 to $1 a pound. The fellow selling for $ 3 obviously think's his time to do that for you is worth something and he is right.

I wouldn't consider $3 for an ingot outrageous but you can do it yourself cheaper.
 
Last year, $1.50 per lb. was common in my area. Now, $1.00 per lb. seems to be the going rate for pure stuff and then up from there for blends. $3.00, wayyyy to much.
 
I pay 105$ for 3.5 five gallon bucket , after sorting and melting that

I have 290 lbs of COWW in ingot and 47 lbs of SOWW in ingot

I sell today to a metal buyer the stell and zinc for 17.50$

total pice 87.50$ for 337 lbs = 0.26$/lb
 
Considering plated bullets offered by one of CGN sponsors' including shipping comes to ~5.90 a pound one would be crazy to pay $3/lb for lead.
 
I just got a 5 gallon bucket filled within 3" of the rim with lead WW only for .. Wait for it... $20 :dancingbanana:

Last bucket I bought was $50 and mixed wheel weights!




What is the average weight of a 5 gallon pail filled with WW do you lads think?

I had em range from 95-130 lbs
 
Is there some where around Vancouver that sells bulk lead?
Seems like a good time to buy if the price is low right now.
 
Thanks Highrpm, I'll look into the recyclers, I was more thinking about buying lead from..... say Cominco.... :)

sorry, I gave you the wrong web address. the website is metalexleadrecycling dot com . Metalex is in Richmond, BC. Price is based on commodity spot prices. Last time I bought, 99.98% pure was about $1.30/lb, and 4% antimonial lead was about $1.45/lb. It's clean re-refined commercial grade lead and you don't need to clean it, just melt and cast. The only pia is that the ingots are big - 60lbs each and you need to chop it into smaller pieces to get it to fit in the pot. But very good stuff and good people to deal with.
