Lead prices

Metalex is great, last time gave me full composition of the ingot down to 2 decimal places.
Downside as said is the fracking heavy 60+lbs ingot. Serious PITA.

What would be the best and easiest way/tool to break these large ingots?
Coarse bladed hacksaw works. Mechanical hacksaw would be great. DO NOT use a cut-off wheel or grinder, you don't need the burned lead fumes and airborne particles in your lungs. I use a reciprocating saw, 6-8 teeth per inch. A handheld bucksaw works pretty well if you have some upper body strength and need a workout.

it works OK but lots of wastage and lead cuttings sprayed everywhere.

Tarps.

Also, I bought good lead from a fellow shooter - 500lb for $1, then 1000lbs for $0.65 locally.
If it's pure lead, I would say up to $1.25 if you're "hard up".. but yeah, keep it under a dollar a lb.

Lately ingots seem to find me. A shooter friend asked me if I wanted pure lead for a buck a pound so I picked up 260 some pounds which was all he had. While I was there he started throwing wheel weight ingots onto my truck to the point where the truck was starting to wilt. Those were free, as were the few pails of wheelweights we threw on last. The linotype wasn't up for grabs.

Another friend offered me over 600 pounds of hard wheel weight ingots for 30 cents a pound. Couldn't hardly say no.
