Great find! About 35 lbs of soft lead. These were used as part of a flow measurement rig as the weights suspended from a bridge into flowing water. The deflection of the suspension cable and a little math was used to measure the velocity of the flow at a specific depth. This then determined Q. There are neat things to find if you ask about.

Almost too unique to melt. I'll trade you an equal amout of lead for the smaller one. You make it up to Calgary very often?

Weighed them today. Small one is 30 lbs, larger is 50 lbs.

If these were made by W & L E Gurley then there would be some value to someone. There's probably a collector out there somewhere. Me? pew pew pew
