Lucky me. I got 4-20lb lead door weights at work today. Big casting run in the works.

Free lead is the best lead...I have been dropping off fishing weights at my sources for the last three days.

Greasing the wheels never hurts

I got over 900lbs of lead anodes from work a few years back...hardness tests at between aged wheel weights and #2

That is great. Anytime you have an clean melt is a bonus. Melting WW is never a fun proposition. The result is good but the gross fumes ect makes the job just that, a job and not much fun.

I do it outside and quite enjoy it....just like sorting wheel weights

My wife's dentist had been saving the lead foil in the film packs from xray for about twenty years. I don't think they knew why they were saving them, I guess that didn't want to put that nasty lead in the garbage. They were very pleased that I took it off their hands! Not too many dentists are still on film however.
