If i shoot all lead bullets by Speer or Hornady at 900 or 1000 fps in my new 44, will I get leading? Is there a lead solvent?
 
Speer leads are not hard cast and have a suggested max velocity of 1000fps, according to their own techs. If u can find hard cast, they can easily exceed 1200fps or more without showing signs of leading. Leading isnt a big deal, u just gotta watch for it. If it is evident, there are lots of solvents for removal, such as Hoppes 9 or others. U may want to do a Google for more info on barrel leading/removal or if no luck, ask for help.

Alot of leading can be prevented by using the proper size bullets(.001 over bore size), hard cast, gas check bullets should work at top velocities in all hand guns. The lead bullets from Speer and Horn. are probably swaged not cast and therefore very soft and should be held below 1000fps.
