Leapers Optics

I was looking at Leaper Optics scopes at Marstar. Has anyone had any experience with their scopes?I currently have a Leaper 6-24X50 I have it mounted on my 5.56 mm rifle and have been reaching out to 400 yards with it. I wish I had more room to see how it does further. however it also has illumination (red/green) which does come in handy. it also came with a 4" lense shade which I find worth it's weight in gold. I paid in the neighbourhood of $200 for it at a swap meet. it was new, in orriginal packaging.
I find it to me a half decend mid grade optic. Since I bought it Bushnell came out with their Elite 4200 6-24X50mm tactical. which I would have bought instead. however would it be justifyable to me to spend the extra $4-500.. For the small 5.56mm I think not.. for me anyways. I have used various types and makes of scopes and can't complain about it. I deffinately preffer it over many of the bushnell lower end scopes I have used.
To rate it on itself. I would give it a 7.5/10. Just keep in mind they are not High end scopes. so try not to compare this to a high end scope.
Last time I was out with it at 400 yards. it was 28 Deg C out and as long as I did not put the power above 18. it was more then clear enough to make my shots.
I would not be affraid to buy another. however I not too sure how it stands up to higher recoil rifles. I am thinking it would be a 50/50 chance of breaking on my 7mm. But for something small like my 5.56.. 1000 rounds later it is still going strong.

I wish as a MOD I could ban that name on this forum......but I can't....
pure junk...I have seen more threads about how ####ty they are.....I have seen lots of them get fogged,not move when turnning the knobs.....
just get a good Bushnell at least they can hold zero

I re-sold mine a week after I bought it, at a loss. Not as good as a cheap Tasco and I don't have any use for them either.
I got one free as part of a tactical pack that Marstar was selling with their M305's a few years ago. Even free I paid too much. I agree with Jamie, Leepers should be "The-scope-that-must-not-be-named".
As I keep saying, it takes a wealthy man to buy cheap scopes. Nobody ever got rid of a Nightforce or a Leupold VXIII because they thought they were junk, but many a shooter has wasted money on all the frustration that goes with owning a scope that is poor quality, only to invest in one of those scope brands that is the last you will ever buy.

I got one on my PCP air rifle. It's good under 50M for plinking. But that's about it.
Got two and no complaints. The small little fixed power AR15 scope and a 3-9x40.
The small one gets sometimes mounted on my 9mm AR for indoor range use but not often. The larger one sometimes gets mounted to the AR15 but not often.
If you can't shoot with irons, why bother having a AR.
Don't forget that SOME of us can't afford those high end scopes some hig-payed scope-snobs out there use.

I had one that came with an SKS scope mount I purchased down in the U.S about 6 years ago. Definetly would not buy one if your looking for precision and quality. Keep it now as a cheap alternative to a monocular. Oh ya 3-9x40 rubber armoured.

If you can afford an AR of any persuasion, you definitely can afford a used scope of better quality.

I bought two Leapers 3-9x32AO for $59/ea from DL Airguns in Langley, and I was happy with them out to 100 yards with my .22LR. I don't think I'd buy the more expensive ones or use them on anything larger than a .223.
