I have a 3x9x40 mil-dot compact on my marlin 30-30. Eye relief is very short, would not be suitable for a hard recoiling rifle. The multi-coated optics are decent given the price, and is bright enough for hunting at low power. At the higher powers, the scope is not bright enough for me for dusk/dawn hunting. It holds zero well, although the lateral tracking is strangely yet consistently 2 clicks/inch, even though it is marked as 4 clks/inch:confused: The vertical adjustments work as advertised, although they don't have a great feel. This caused a lot of problems zeroing the rifle until I figured this out. Once I got it dialed in, it works well. Scope caps are a nice feature. It is light and compact, looks great on the rifle, was cheap to buy, and works well enough to keep it.

If you are on a budget they are worth a look, but do not confuse them with quality optics. They do have a lifetime warranty, and my dealer guaranteed me that if I had ANY problems he would give me another one over the counter no questions asked. I just can't be bothered to send it back now. For a .22 or a light recoiling caliber they might be ok. But I would not trust them on anything that kicked very hard.:) As with any optics you generally get what you pay for.

I had one that came with the "Tac Pac". ...Garbage.

Returned it to Marstar (the comapny is great) and they replaced it. The replacement is garbage. The magnification adjustment ring is siezed (same as the last one) and it has never even been mounted.

Neither one worked well enough to ever get mounted and tested, so I can't comment on their other "qualities".

They're cheap pieces of Chinese shyte.
