i got a sks UTG quad rail from hical a few wks ago.. and love it!, looks great on the rifle for sure. it does add a lot of weight though, but balanced out nicely once i removed the bayonet..

i wouldnt trust a red dot or other sight to stay zeroed however, and you have to completely remove the rail everytime you do a cleaning.. but for mounting lights and accessories its a great addition to the rifle. plus you dont have to modify the rifle in any way for attaching it.

the only reason i would want that is for the top rail....i have been looking at this as well, i dont think it would be good for a longer range scope, only dot sight or something small, i took the tape measure to it and it would be like a full 12 inches from the sight base to the back of reciver. Looks cool though but my sks is in an ATI stock and that comes with side rails for accessories.

Thanks I am going to attach a vertical fore grip with built in bi-pod and a red dot sight on a 45' adapter. It is supposed to allow use of iron sites. If I can find a scope with a long enough eye relief I may give that a try.

I have read a few reviews on this item and know about taking this off the rifle for cleaning. I don't mind the tinkering. Some reviews praised the solid fit and ability to maintain accuracy and some not so much. After I put 6-800 rounds through the rifle and take it apart for cleaning a few times I will write a review.

I just took mine off tonight, looks retarded with rail covers
Not enough rail length on the bottom for grip. And really heavy
To carry around, seems light just holding it but once you put it on the rifle
You sure notice it and the sks is a heavy rifle to begin with. Not very comfortable
At all, plus I couldnt find an accessory I wanted on my sks so it was useless to me
Looked cool for a while, but thats it. And you have to take it off everytime u wana clean your piston.

But im holding it right now, and its very nicely built and a pretty
Good design for the sks, and it fits nice

Got a kwil rail insted

had the old work horse out today to test out the UTG quad rail & tapco 5/20 mags.. rail ran fine on the rifle and weight wasnt much of an issue (mind you nothing was mounted to it). Tapco mags ran great!.

The only pic i could find, dont own the rifle anymore. 3/32nds maybe more. I know it was close i guess if your sight post adjusts enough?

Sorry for reviving a dead thread but anyone have one of these rails they'd part with, I know I'm 10 years in the future from when this was last post on but I can't find one anywhere
