In a few months, my build list will come to the part where I want to replace the AR trigger mechanism.

I only know of Timney mostly since I have shot rifles with this brand, Geisselle from this forum, and Jewell.

Im leaning towards Timney. As a drop in part, and excellent price point, this is where I want to go.

But anything anyone can add is appreciated regarding Geisselle comparatively to Timney.

Thanks, C.

So many options, but what you should use as your guide is what kind of shooting do you do or want to do? That is kinda how they are different aside from brand name...

Both Timneys and Gieselle are excellent, can't see going wrong with any of their options really.

RRA 2Stg NM is good, however there still is a fairly big difference in weight and smoothness, reset and pretravel on a 100 bone more Tim or Gieselle...

Well three gun, CQB, and eventually Service Rifle.

All I keep hearing at work is Timney. The hunting guys love them.

In such case the Timney 3lb in either skeletonized or bladed are nice, and for latest ones out there that are getting fantastic reviews would be the S3G, "super 3 gun" by Gieselle.

Arms East sells the 3G, and Alberta Tactical sell the Timney.

I have been pretty happy with the RRA NM 2 stage. It spanks any of the factory AR triggers but I have not had the opportunity to try a Giessele or timney.

I do have experience with different triggers on other platforms. The RRA is very good.

i have a timney 3lb in my ar and i absolutely love it my friend has the rra 2 stage and after trying mine he hates his. i also know someone with a giessele s3g and its a really nice trigger also. if i was building another ar i would probably go with the timney 3 lb skeletonized because i am familiar with it but i would take a good look at the s3g if it was my first.

They must make 5.5lbs to qualify for service rifle.

Bingo. Geisselle has one model that can be tuned above 5.5lbs, barely.

For the type of shooting you plan on doing with it I'd say save your money. You don't need, or necessarily want, a touchy match trigger for those applications, particularly a 2 stage. A lot of these aftermarket triggers are also not nearly as durable as the good 'ole factory single stage. If you want to improve your trigger, keep it reliable, remain above 5.5lbs, and keep costs low then I'd perhaps look at the ALG Defence ACT trigger. ALG is run by Geisselle's wife, you can consider them stock triggers with some special attention paid to them.

Ill check out ALG.

Thanks.

I just installed a Gieselle SSA-E two stage and it is a huge improvement over the stock trigger. 10 minute easy install. I wouldnt want a single stage ar trigger unless it was on a dmr type rifle.
