Least favourite cartridge?

With that logic you should also dislike the 30-06 (does 30-03 ring a bell?):)

The primary difference between the .30/06 and the .30/03 has more to do with a change in bullet weight from 220 to 150 grs, rather than anything else. Despite the fact that the Americans chose to shorten the 1903 Springfield rifle barrel by a couple of threads then rechamber it for a cartridge with a slightly shorter neck, bullet diameter remained .308, and the rate of twist remained 1:10, so the .30/06 still shoots 220 gr and heavier/longer bullets extremely well. If one was to acquire an unmodified 1903 Springfield rifle, a .30/06 cartridge could be fired safely in it, something which is not true of a 7.9X57JS .323 bullet fired in a 7.9X57J .318 bore, as is the case with the Mauser. One of the best things about the .30/06 is the broad range of bullet weights that can be used effectively in it, essentially from 100 grs to 250.
