Leather care...

An old guy in Montréal who owns a wholesale leather company, everything up to exotics, gave me his secret : handlotion, Vaseline Intensive Care type
 
Lots of leather has a brass buckle near by, so just for fun...

Way back, when I had a functioning B&W darkroom, I would drop a couple of pennies into the stop bath (dilute acetic acid, aka white vinegar) for a few minutes, rinse, then drop them into used fixer. Within a few seconds - silver plated pennies.
The stop bath had them nice and shiny with no effort.

Trusted by people with LOTS of leather that gets used. As in horse tackle. A saddle is way more expensive than a holster or a belt so I trust what they use.
