Hi everyone,

Modern holster makers that I've looked at online don't list a Webley as a make or model for their holsters and shoulder rigs. I can't really go antique militaria being left handed, so has anyone any recommendations on a make/model of revolver that I could substitute when ordering, or perhaps someone who makes leather gear specifically for a Webley Mk 1*?

Cheers

Since you're in Vancouver, there's a leather worker in the lower mainland that does fantastic work, he's had a table at the HACS show several times, usually up on the stage at the old Ledger Ave site - can't remember his info but if you contact HACS they'll know his name/contact info. It'll be a little more than a store bought manufactured holster, but he does good work.

Contact Hoplite Tactical Supplies as they make a sweet leather flap holster for the 4" barrelled Webley MkI that is very reasonably priced. Believe the business is out of Prince George , BC.

Why not just purchase a real holster for it?? ima-usa.com should have what you are looking for. Maybe even Marstar one of our banner supporters.

We've gotten to specialize in these ;).

Our backlog for leatherwork is close to cleared up and we'll be taking in new orders in a week. First to put down deposits get held in sequence in the new line that's forming :d.

The holster pictured in the link readily accepted Webley MKI, MKII, or S&W DA. Includes hardware to be worn with shoulder strap, and a beltloop to be worn on the belt.

And I suppose it would be nice to get something that I can use as open carry. This rig by Simply Rugged looks impressive:

I can say theses guys are top notch hoster makers and there prices are good even tho the USD is 20% more.
I had them make me a custom cross draw holster for a original S&W Schofield outa a bull Gator leg skin.
Its really well done its lined and the fit is better than any holster in my collection.
I also like the chest rigs they make like in that link ^ they are used alot in Alaska for handgun cary it leaves nothing pokeing out to catch on brush if your hunkered down gutting some deer or something you have fast access to the chest rig.
They also make a chest rig called a Flap jack thats the one im looking at for my 5 inch barreled Remington 1875 in 44 sp.
I will get gator again its more money but it looks so nice.

No, but your close :)
I get alot of guys asking what holsters to buy for Webleys and other antique handguns so this is a good thred to post a few pics.

For the OP heres another holster this is a Bianchi and theses do fit the webleys tight but you need to get the holsters that do not protect the trigger gards. the holsters in this type with the trigger gard cover wont fit unless you cut the stiching.
And get one for a 4 inch barrel this is a snub nosed holster for a very CUSTOM MKI** i have in 455 (a keeper)
This holster is to show how the webley frame fits nice in theses. just find one with a longer snout.
Theses holsters can be bought on ebay for like $30 sometimes or less.
Theres a ton of holsters on ebay under hunting.

I have found alot of nice bianchis on ebay they fit the S&W DAs as well as long as you get the right holster for the barrel and again get one with no trigger gard cover.
the Webleys and S&W DAs have extra large trigger gards for gloves so you gota watch out for any that cover the trigger gards.

I got this real Gator antique holster below on ebay awhile back its really old and it happened to fit my remy 1875 keeper perfect. i think i paid like $22 + shipping I think its worth 4 times that as it looks cool and fits the gun nice you do not have to pay alot for holsters if your willing to do some hunting.
So theres deals on there (ebay)from time to time i just take a risk that it will fit something. thats how i found out the bianchi cyclones fit the webleys and S&W DAs.
Ya i know there anti gun but theres alot of gun related stuff on there all the time includeing hard to find old gun parts. :)
Webley moon clips are for sale ebay to .

Heres a Bianchi that fits a 4 inch webley they fit snug you can do some custom work with that cross over strap so it stays in there even better ive used theses, there not really antique looking but holly crap can you ever draw fast with one of theses.
If you have a moon clip 45 acp webley you can fire off six rounds so fast and eject and reload so fast it makes a very deadly rig this set up with two full moon clips you can put alot of lead down range fast!

Anyway should give the OP and others a few options this way you wont have to buy 5 diffrent holsters till you find one thats a close fit.
That Simply Rugged chest rig is hard to beat tho . theses others are just cheeper options. sometimes cheeper there not cheep holsters.
