Leatherwood CMR Reticle Colour

Finally settled on which scope I want to put on my AR. The CMR seems to be the best fit for me but I'm trying to decide which colour reticle to get. Green or red? Any opinions or insight are welcome.

well, Red supposedly doesn't affect night vision in your eyes... but given that it's an AR, it's not a hunting rifle, so I'd go green just to be a little different.

I went with red because it's the same colour as the red dot on other rifles of mine and this way I'm used to looking for the same colour. I'm sure there are better reasons for colour choice though.

I have the green as that was available. I wanted the red but now I am happy with the green. I find my eye picks up the recticle a touch faster with the green. I then decided maybe it was all in my head so I did some research and read about how they paint emergency vehicles in green and yellow because the eye picks up these colours faster than red. So long story short, happy with the green.

Got 2 of each, and cant see a difference between them as i almost never use the light... JP.

I have the green. And as said above you won't likely use the illuminated reticle much anyway. Flip a coin and get shootin.

If you don't already have any illuminated scopes, get red. If you already have some red illuminated scopes, get green.

I have trouble picking up red in lower light conditions. When I have the choice I always go green. Personal preference though, you might be different.

I am in the same boat as the two Juans.
green was all they had in stock.
It actually stands out better than red would, should I need it illuminated.

Had to make the same decision the other day and opted for red. Hard to make that kind of decision over the internet.
