Larry Vickers has posted a video, while in Russia, shooting the PL-14 which was unveiled earlier this year:


This is the first footage of it I've seen in action so enjoy :)

I can see three influences in this pistol: Pardini, Steyr M1 and the Strike One which makes for a pistol that is at least aesthetically interesting albeit nothing ground breaking.

He's quite positive about this likely bc he has the connections to get into the factories and shoot prototypes. I'd say the Russians wouldn't take likely to criticism. But I have a feeling that d/a long trigger wasn't his cup of tea. I believe larry is a 1911/glock fan. Interesting pistol , reminds me bit of strike one.

I don't understand the choice to with a DAO trigger unless they're building this with specifications given to them by the military.
 
It's Russia a lot of things don't make sense. Putin will tell us an 11 lb trigger is equivalent to a 5 in North America because Russians are strong like bear.
 
I think you are bang on about the influences. I'd love to try one. I like the design. Wonder how long it will take any to get here via indirect channels given the sanction situation.

Considering that it is still in prototype phase, I'd say it's at least 3-4 years away from being in any civilian market.
