Has any one had experience with Lee Micro Band Bullets for the .45 ACP in a basic Norinco 1911A1 ?

The 2 bullets I am interested in are the round nose 230 grain TL452-230-2R or the truncated 230 grain TL452-230-TC from molds 90350 and 90286.

I am interested in loading reliability and accuracy and loads.

Thank you.

Have cast and loaded 230 GR, not Lee, but not anymore. Now cast 200 Gr. SWC, Lee TL452-200-SWC, at 12-15 BHN, tumbled in Lee Alox. Loaded with, Universal, HS6, N350 even tried Trail Boss all fairly good. Best load, the one I've read is what Bill Wilson uses regularly is Vihtavuori N310 4.2-4.6 Gr. at around 827 to 892 FPS. Mild shooting and dead on consistent accuracy and no leading in my 1911.

I have a norinco 1911a1, but only shoot the lee 200 grain swc with tumble grooves. I use 5.0 grains bullseye and it's been very reliable and as accurate as anything else I've shot in the gun.

My two Norc's have a very up to date feed ramp angle. However, I once had some very quick build up between the barrel and its bed, which put a step in the middle of said ramp and would catch flat noses.
The reason was that Norinco match their frame and barrel's ramps as a continuous one, whereas knowledgeable brands and makers will leave a little flat from the barrel bed showing.
This was with TiteGroup and Liquid Alox; I haven't had a problem since I switched to 700X. I did modify the barrel ramp slightly on one gun though.

So If you want a flat nose, you will have to keep an eye on this and maybe have the ramp modified.

I'm curious about this statement. Is this something they used to do, or something that they are currently doing? I ask because my norc has the proper gap between the frame feed ramp and the barrel ramp. A knowledgable friend of mine commented on that and said that he's seen many norcs like you describe.

My guns were bought in 2005 and late 2010.
However, early in 2010, I returned one of a limited parkerized run, which had a gap that I didn't measure.
The second 2010 one might have been received by the dealer at the same time, as I only bought it when they gave free shipping on the model.

I now wish I had checked a couple of new enhanced models i saw in the last three years.
I wonder if the frames or the barrels were changed. I think all three guns I owned had identical barrels, as I check parts for interchangeability with the old gun.
Marstar's owner once wrote to me that these barrels were made by a suppliers, and I found them to be virtual twins, unlike Norinco's frames etc... They however lag(ged?) behind in specs, with their .430 hood for .450 slide cuts.
