Lee 6000 Six Pack Pro - Primer Issues

I have the 6 pack Pro ... while it can make nice ammunition when it behaves, I seem to constantly have issues with the priming station ... usually it's the primer gets flipped on it's side somehow and then crushed into the primer socket. This happens almost 10 times out of 100 so I'm wasting 10% of my primers. I have no clue how or why the primers flip on edge but they aren't like that when they are in the pickup tray going into where the ram is ... they seem to be getting flipped when going onto the ram. Any ideas how to fix this?

With my loadmaster I get the same thing happening with 223/556 brass if it’s the brass that has the primers crimped in place and I don’t remove the crimp good enough, sometimes I get the same issue when using military 308 too
It’s possible that maybe the press isn’t indexing properly and the primer punch isn’t properly centered on the brass?
I’m not familiar with the six pack pro but the loadmasters were known to have finicky primer stations
Brass with tight pockets can give issues too
I’ve had to replace the plastic primer feeder assembly on mine a couple times as well you might have to do the same with yours
 
It's really annoying that Lee can't seem to get the primer thing figured out, especially on their newest apparently improved best press. I had the 1000 before this one and it was plagued with primer issues as well. Should have just bit the bullet years ago and bought the Dillon I guess ...

Going to explore options for a bench mounted primer tool ... just bypass the progressive station all together. Have tried the Lee hand press tool but too tedious when u are loading 500+ at a time plus of course the cheap plastic part broke within days ...
 
The old Pro1000 primer system works great once you realize that you can’t run low on primers, it doesn’t like running with only primers in the slot, it needs some in the tray to help push.
Plus the system needs to be agitated to work best and the grooves in the press post just aren’t good enough, wrapping those slots in piano wire provided just enough extra agitation.
No idea if this is applicable to the newer six pack press though.
 
Caliber loading? The timing might be out or the primer hole has an unremoved crimp.
Clean the slide going down to the reloading station with a q tip. It helps.

I finally just said enough with the tray and feed teat supplied with the Lee table mounted press, and used one of the trays from an old hand held unit, they never gave any issues, and the teat on them fits the slot in the press perfectly.

Another pinch point is the small plastic gate.

I put a strand of .040 stainless wire in the little relief on the rod where the primer thingy slides. The "bump" would shake the tray enough to keep the primers going.
The old Pro 1000 was FAR better than the Load Master. The square rod on the primer mechanism on the Load Master is about as irritating as can be. I finally gave up on it!

I agree, the other big irritation is that even LEE decided it was garbage and made it obsolete. I don't use mine much any more but it is still here, collecting dust.
