Ok all you Anniversary kit and Challenger press buyers, what mods or techniques have you come up with using your presses? The one that is bugging me so far is the used primer tray. I'd like to get a plastic movable "drawer" for easy emptying of primers, but I'm interested in any other mods done to make this press better.

Yeah that primer catcher is really bugging me too. First I've got to put something soft in the bottom so the darn things stop bouncing out and all over the floor. I think for the time being I'll just use a magnet to pull out the used primers.

Got a box from a brick of 22 ammo?
Make a catcher.
This started out as a T22 box. I glued down the end flaps so I could cut into it. Lop off the top and trim the end to fit under the press. The sides are folded out to help catch primers.
It fits perfectly in the catch tray, and you can see how mine fits under.

It catches 99.75% of all primers (the odd ones slips out and makes a break for it
). Easily holds several hundred and empties in a heartbeat.

I've never actually thought about how many it holds. Once in a while, when I remember, I just dump it out and continue.

Of course, this would probably cost you more than the press, having however the benefit of having the links completely indestructible.

All this talk of reloading is giving me the bug. Does anyone know if all this reloading equipment is much cheaper to purchase in the good ole USA ??

I too use the ammo box way for catching the spent primers, but only if I'm doing more than ten, other wise the vacuum can eat the strays that bounce away to the floor.

Well I go across the border and stay the week-end quite a few times in the summer, so there would be no duty depending on the price of the kit. Unless there are special rules on bringing reloading equipment back across the border. That Lee Anniversary kits looks like a good B-Day gift for me this summer.

For those ,like me,who used the Factory Crimp die, you can get those lovely machined ones or the linkage set off the 1000 press.
Level the shelf or make a pad with wood screw adjusters for the scale. It makes that little scale very accurate.
