You can buy them direct from Lee too.
IMO the micrometer for the auto-disk is the way to go. Dial in whatever weight you want, no screwing around with the discs.
Higginsons has that as well.

Bought many items from them. great bunch to deal with as well.Higginsons in Ontario
I found the the micrometer disk to throw very inconsistent charge weights when using lighter (under 4 grains) charges of flake powders. Might be OK for heavier charges of ball powders, however.

I found the same, except mine was under about 3.5 gr. of flake. I load a lot of 3.8gr Titegroup in 38 spl., and I just keep an eye on the powder as it drops into the 'funnel' of the measure. Very few problems that way. I assumed that the same problem with flake would occur with the discs as well. It's the same powder throw, so why would the discs be any better?
As you say, ball powder is no problem.
It may have to do with the fact that the cavity in the micrometer bar is oval and the cavities in the disks are round. Sometimes not all the powder falls into the oval cavity (hangs up on the edges?). After I got poor results with the bar I switched to the disks and the charge weights became much more consistent.
Thank you very much for your offer, I appreciate that. I'm using classic target loads for 38spl 2.7-3 gr of BullsEye and 148 gr wadcuters. I just bought adjustable charge bar from the Titan reloading. Will see how it will work out.Hi olbar, You do not mention which bullet (type and weight) or powder you use in your 38 Spl, but looking at my manuals, very few loads have 3gr as a max load!
I prefer slower powders, get better velocities with lower pressure, and even use Unique in 9mmP. However, as almost all respondents indicated above, as a flake powder it does not meter well through the adjustable sliders in the Lee Pro 1000. I also load for 40 S&W (AutoComp and Blue Dot) and the larger volume here works well with the slider. The slider also works reliable with the larger volumes in 10mmAuto, 44 Mag and 45 ACP, even with Unique and AutoComp.
What I did with my slider for using with Unique for 9mmP loads (manuals list max charge for 124-125 bullet from 4.9 - 5.8gr!) is to open up the oval opening with my case deburring tool, and then polishing the black plastic with #1500grit paper. Obviously, re-set the charge. Powder dispension is still not reliable with Unique, and before I dump powder into the case, as the handle is lowered, I firmly tap the side of the powder dispenser where the head of the silver screw is visible, with a light mallet, and this ensures consistent powder dispensing. Yes, it is a pain in the a.., but it works and is less hassle than zero powder or squib-load powder charges. With the slower powders the case is also filled more, and it is easy to check each case for correct powder level when seating the bullet in the case mouth.
I have spare discs (as I mainly use the sliders) and can mail you one for free if you let me know what volume hole disc you need. Just send me a PM.
