I was loading 115gr with Tightgroup and using the .34 hole on the A disk.
Now, I want to load some 147gr and with Tightgroup, I would need to get the Micro Disk to go down as Lymans manual recommend a starting load of 3.2gr and a top load of 3.6gr. The smallest hole I have on the A disk is .30 and with Tighgroup I am still getting 4.1gr (measured), well over the max for this load.
I don't want to bother getting the Micro Disk right now, so I am looking for suggestions on a powder that requires a higher volume and, more specifically, will preform well in the Lee autodisk.
Some choices are:
Power Pistol
HS-6
Blue Dot
N340
I am only asking becuase the Lee Auto Disk instructions caution that coarse flake powders (like Green Dot and Red Dot) can give light charges or not fill the disk consistantly, and I only have experience with Tightgroup.
Any suggestions are welcome..
Thanks!
