Just wanted feedback from someone who actually purchased and used the Lee Classic cast press, maybe a comparison to Rock Chucker.
 
I don't have the classic, but have used the original for the last 29 years. It's still going strong. I have lost count of the number of rounds it has loaded. The Classic is probably the best all around press Lee makes. Simple, rugged and affordable. Buy with confidence.

I have a classic cast rotary along with a couple of 650 Dillons as well as a 550 Dillon ...if I were limited to only keeping one press for any reason, I would keep the Classic cast albeit is a little slower, it will do everything and more than the big presses will do individually. By far a more versatile press than the RCBS
 
I have both the classic cast and rock chucker. The classic cast is a much stronger press due to the massive ram. I hurt the rock chucker swaging but the Lee takes even more punishment and keeps asking for more. It's tolerances are just as tight as the rcbs and much tighter than any other model of lee press I've used.
 
i decided to go and piece together a reloading set instead of buying the 50th anniversary kit they sell... i went and upgraded to the breach lock classic cast press because i got big hands and liked the bigger opening over the regular challenger press... im so glad i did, the thing is rock solid and is a very nice press to use. i would recommend this press to anyone looking in to reloading.
 
The Classis cast turret press is a great press! Built very strong. Also a good point about the press is you can run it as a turret to bang out some pistol rounds fairly quick or you can run it in single stage by manually indexing the turret for rifle cartrdges if you so choose.

The Lee Classic Cast is also a much cleaner press to use than my Rockchucker.
It works very well for loading 50 BMG too...
 
I've been reloading on a Classic Cast for several years, and am nothing but happy with it. It's a smooth, solid chunk of pig iron that does everything I ask of it without fuss. I do like the simple poly tube for dumping spent primers into a garbage can too; easy solution to a simple problem.
 
I have a LEE classic cast press. Works great, very strong. Just one small warning, if the primer catcher tube falls off make sure you are holding the handle when you push it back into place or.....whack! right in the melon :( lol
 
I have Lee challenger and turret press. I have a Rock Chucker. Last two years I have gotten Classic Cast presses. The Rock Chucker simply is not in the same category as the Classic Cast Single Stage press! If it wasn't set up as a dedicated bullet puller, I'd sell it.
 
20 years later and it is still my choice for rifle ammo loading. I would put it up against a rock chucker. Either will serve you for your life time.

Turrets are too sloppy for my taste when loading for a repeatable round. Great for pistol or plinking .223 but not my choice for rifle/longer range rounds.
 
Echo what others have said. The Lee Classic Cast Turret press is good value. At full speed I crank out a 9mm round every 5 seconds. The Dillons have at least double this production rate but they also cost 3x more than the Lee.

Does anyone load 223 in progressive mode?
