Hi all,
I just graduated from my Lee turret to a Hornady Lock n Load progressive. The Lee turret has been a workhorse and did great but for hundreds up to thousands of 9mm rounds .... that's a lot of arm pulling!

I'd like to know if there are any issues with using the Lee dies on the Hornady?

Also, I was wondering about expanders .... since my existing expander is built into the Lee power measure can I use it (without powder, of course) as my expander on the LnL?

Any other suggestions welcomed also.

Thanks.

The only issue you will find with the Lee dies is that the threads on the die is a little on the short side. I have had to flip the locking nut over to be able to use it as the dies have to be screwed down to far to use the locking nut and the rubber O ring. Once you put them in the press you will see what I am talking about.

Lee dies that are more than about 10 years old may be so short that they will not function normally in the LNL. I have a set of .308 Win dies that I bought around 1990 that are held in the bushing with a set screw, as the lock ring has zero thread engagement.

About 2005 (wild guess), Lee redesigned their dies to address this. They are now barely long enough to work properly in a LNL setup.
