Lee Enfield 303 British? Nope!

A thing of beauty, sir- and I don't even like sporters!

I can make an exception for yours, though.

Finally finished my 444 magazine. I found a 410 box magazine that held the 444 beautifully after some tweaking. I had to take the corner off the 410 mag so that the short end of the Lee Enfield mag would accept it. After some grinding and filing of the edges on the 410 mag, I was able to tap it down inside the old 303 mag. The old mag is wide at the rear, which caused the 410 mag to move off centre, I put a spot of solder on the end after centering everything. It turned out to be a 3 cartridge magazine and it feeds beautifully. I buffed the old finish off and blued it.

Nice work man. That rifle looks good and a wonderfull round for it.
Ive rebarreled lee enfield and lee metfords to 22rf, 25-20, 32HR, 6.5x53, 6.5x55, 38-40, 44-40, 43 mauser and 410 shotgun. Are the ones in my safe now

Such a simple guns to work with and easy to set head space. I need to work on the mags though, all but the 6.5's are single shot.

I cut the knox form off old sporter 303 barrel and drill them out and tap them to 13/16-20 and then screw win94 barrels into it. To the inner receiver ring. Or ill turn other barrles down and thread the 13/16-20. ( other then the 43 mauser barrel)

The facrory bolt face and extractor worked on all those rounds. The 44-40 and 38-40 i changed the angle a bit to make it smoother when popping over the rim when you close the bolt. But the 25-20 works with the 303 extractor

Right now im working on a 45-70 conversion on a ler metford. Ill be using a 45-70 mag and trigger gaurd off a remington lee and also have to open up the innee receiver ring.

And it still has the charger bridge, so next, stripper clips in .444Marlin?

What a great job, that is a fine looking rifle you made. It's a keeper for sure, and will become a real family heirloom lasting for a long time.
