Looking for some information on an Enfield barrel. Listed as ".308 Lee Enfield" barrel. Has a front globe sight attached. Barrel markings on the flat reads "CR 1470 B70 SRM3". I have a sporterized No4mk1 I'm contemplating putting it on. Any information would be appreciated.

Hammer forged Brit 4 groove 1970 target barrel commonly found on 7.62 conversion. Not very collectible. Better off fining a 308 barrel profiled to the No4 and you can reuse the forend etc. Just my opinion. Ron

PS - what is barrel length? Is there a sight mount on the muzzle? how's the bore?

Bore looks great, 27.5". I believe the front globe sight is attached on a dovetail. Seems like a similar profile to the No4 barrel. I've been wrong before though.

The 7.62x51 target conversions were intended for single shot use.
You may be able to find a Sterling or Enfield 7.62 magazine. The price might bring tears to your eyes.

This one is an actual .308 win conversion. I'm afraid I don't know much about these as well.

Above info is incorrect regarding the Indian 2A1 mad. They will fit and feed with minimal fitting, and eject just fine. The ejector is built into the feed lips of the 2A1 magazine. I used one on a heavy barrelled target No4 without any issues, other than the mags being ugly.

All I can say that If you want a 7.62 Enfield to eject (and feed) reliably do your research. You may want a new ejector screw at a minimum.

The British design with integrated mag ejector is provided below as a reference...

This info is incorrect. The magazine on the 2A1 does not have ejector lips. Those ejector lips are only found on L39/L42A1 type magazines.
The Enfield Enforcer also uses these magazines.

Please look again at a 2A1 magazine. The left rear fees lip is longer in length and does function well as an ejector. The feed lip itself is not an added/spot welded piece as on the L42 mads.
