Not sure why my rifle does this - or if its fixable.

BSA 1916 Lee Enfield No1 Mk 3* .303

Here is what happens: When the bolt is closed on the chamber and ready to fire, once the trigger is pulled the bolt handle moves upwards slightly about half way. This was observed while dry firing. I can only imagine what this might do with a live round in the chamber.

Any suggestions as to why this happens? What do I do about it?

As this is a sporterized version, I am considering using it as a camp gun when I am out in the bush, but not if I will end up eating the bolt!

Let me know if you need more details.

As Tiriaq stays...won't do it when fired. This is happeing during dry fire and is the counter reaction of the firing pin spring recoil. A good sign actually.
