Lee Enfield Iron Sight HELP!

The copper fouling doesnt seem too excessive, but that muzzle doesnt look right. Can you post better pics? Include a picture looking down the barrel from the muzzle.

MY solution would be to glass-bed the critter solid around the action and chamber.

That piece of wood which is missing, right in front of the magazine well, is important to the integrity of the stock. You can replace it with a bit of Acra-Glas, but be sure you CLAMP it while it is still soft.

Hope this helps.

Post 17 shows wood missing from just in front of the magazine well. Photos from the rear of the forestock show a definite crack at about the 9 o'clock position.

Either of these can make a world of difference to the shooting.

Wish I were closer; Edmonchuk is my home town but we moved with the Oil Patch just after the Daly discovery.

You have other things to worry about right now? No problem. But don't WORRY. Worry solves nothing; intelligent work solves everything. So don't worry.

Far as the old Lee is concerned, she has had almost a century to wait; another week or month will make little difference. WHEN you do her, do her RIGHT.

Good luck!

Okay. My wife gave birth to twins at only 26 weeks and they are in critical condition at the Royal Alexandra so it will be some time before we look at the enfield again.

Thanks for the help.

My younger cousin was born at 26 weeks as well. He is 16 now, strong as an ox n healthy as a horse. He's an excellent hockey player and a beast on a motocross bike despite his 100lb frame. Things will be just fine, your family is in good hands :)

My youngest boy was born 2 months early and he's 25 now with two boys. He too was in the Royal Alex...the kids will be fine. Now, when you have time, and I don't think it's been mentioned, is there a bulge or ring in the bore within an inch of the crown? That will do exactly what you're talking about. The rest of the gun's fine and the bedding and draws together won't make it shoot that far away. A bulge however...I had a Krag like that. Took me a bit to discover.
