I recently had a buddy give me his 1943 Lee enfield No.4 MK1 Longbranch, it was pretty dirty but cleaned up nice.
It's been sporterized so I was wondering what the odds are of finding the original wood for it.
38L###x serial number and has a F29 stamped on it as well as a 52, don't know what if anything they mean but would like to put it back to the factory wood...
thanks

Furniture pops un on the EE from time to time. I am not too sure where else to find it.

Try reposting in the milsurp forum. You will get more help there.

All the best.

A quick look on e-bay shows full wood in the U.S. and the U.K. Both run around 200 bucks plus shipping but the U.S. will not ship to Canada where the U.K. says world wide. EPPS shows a full wood mismatched kit at 93 bucks but out of stock but a phone call may yield results. It looks like you can piece it together using Marstar but again it looks like 200 bucks. You can post looking for someone to swap as well. I am sure that there are people out there who want to go the other way.

First off, nice find. Secondly, lots of luck on the rebuild. I've done several restoration jobs and you can see some nice pics in the milsurp forum. As to the stocks, it depends on whether you are looking for walnut or birch. There are new old stock birch sets for sale with new hardware on ebay coming out of England. Walnut stocks are scarcer but they can be found. If you're a purist and you want Long Branch wood and hardware to make it as close as possible to "factory", you may get lucky. I had a hard time finding the correct wood and hardware, but the end result was worth it and it was a labour of love. I wish you well. If I can help in any way, feel free to PM me.
