Lee Enfield Mag info

I just picked up this strange looking Lee Enfield magazine and I'm trying to decide if I should sell it or see if I can make it fit my No4 Mk1. Is there anything special about it or is it a common mag? I can't get my pics to rotate on photobucket.

Looks very similar to the ones I use in my MKIII

It is a Magazine No3 for the SMLE rifle. It was a conversion of the No1 & 2 mags for the MkVII .303" ctg. If you examine the trigger guards on most SMLEs you will find there is a cutout on the rhs inside for the external feed lip.
It will not fit a No4 Rifle.

Type 3 mags are not that uncommon, the type 1 & type 2 are the rarer ones & command a higher premium, where a type 4 might get $35 a type 3 will get about $50, the types 1 & 2 $80+

I'm in NZ so $35 is a fair price, i don't know the prices they go for in Canada (do now though ) hence my "where a type 4 might get $.."

Ah yes. Enfield prices have really gon up over the last 10 years.

Might still be a good deal with the exchange and shipping... how is the NZ dollar doing?

Ship us all you got, at that price, this ain't NZ. Lucky if you'll find one for less than 80. CDN here. Finally in desperation, bought a repo for hunting, see how that goes.

Trade-Ex had at least a few hundred for sale at $40 each, some in as new condition. They even took and sold some at local Ontario and Quebec gunshows, I think another dealer bought up all their remaining stock not long ago.

They had about 2 or 3 crates full come in from a overseas importer.
