I just picked up this strange looking Lee Enfield magazine and I'm trying to decide if I should sell it or see if I can make it fit my No4 Mk1. Is there anything special about it or is it a common mag? I can't get my pics to rotate on photobucket.
Thanks in advance, G

Looks very similar to the ones I use in my MKIII

It is a Magazine No3 for the SMLE rifle. It was a conversion of the No1 & 2 mags for the MkVII .303" ctg. If you examine the trigger guards on most SMLEs you will find there is a cutout on the rhs inside for the external feed lip.
It will not fit a No4 Rifle.

I'm in NZ so $35 is a fair price, i don't know the prices they go for in Canada (do now though :) ) hence my "where a type 4 might get $.."

Ah yes. Enfield prices have really gon up over the last 10 years.

Might still be a good deal with the exchange and shipping... how is the NZ dollar doing?

just checked $100CDN gets you $113NZ

Ship us all you got, at that price, this ain't NZ. ;) Lucky if you'll find one for less than 80. CDN here. Finally in desperation, bought a repo for hunting, see how that goes.

Grizz

Trade-Ex had at least a few hundred for sale at $40 each, some in as new condition. They even took and sold some at local Ontario and Quebec gunshows, I think another dealer bought up all their remaining stock not long ago.

They had about 2 or 3 crates full come in from a overseas importer.

They do still have some Promag aftermarket ones for $34.95 for sale -
