Lee Enfield Magazines

I am curious, I see lots of 10 rd Lee Enfield Magazines for sale, is there a way of capping them at 5 rounds without drilling holes and popping rivets in these pieces of history?

I was under the impression that the Lee 10 rd mags were illegal, since the limit is 5? I thought the only magazines allowed over 5rds/mag were rimfires...

Enfield magazines have no limit as the rifle is a bolt action. The limits are on magazines for semi auto rifles.

"There is no limit to the magazine capacity for semi-automatic rim-fire long guns, or for other long guns that are not semi-automatics. "

As others have said, there are no mag limits on Lee-Enfield rifles in terms of the Firearms Act. Your particular provincial DNR may have limits on how many rounds you may carry in your magazine while hunting. That is a different situation. I'd check with your provincial wildlife dept. for more info on that, as there are wide variations from province to province. Either way, you don't have to drill and pop rivet your magazine!

Wow, all of you guys made my day (christmas came just a bit early) when I read that I didn't have to do any drilling! Now I don't have to buy rusty mags to drill! Thanks
