Are they hard to find as they are usually priced more than the rifle?I'm looking for a #1 MKIII in serviceable condition? Thanx Harold A five round #4 MKI would be nice as well come to think of it..........

I am also looking for a few No.1 Mk.III Lee Enfield Magazines. I have 2 but the small tab spring on the rear has been removed and the magazine is a little wobbly.

Marstar is out.Two shops in AB [Milarm + Bashaw Sports]wanted more than a BUBBA'ED one with a clip!!!I'll check out the Calgary gun show at Easter....................Harold

Sadly, #4 and #1 mags are not interchangeable, properly. If I get to the Orangeville Gun Show this weekend, I'll have a look around and mention here if I find someone who has a bunch. I know some months back a gentleman had No.1 magazines wrapped in brown paper and grease for 40 dollars each.

"...Are they hard to find..." Getting that way. They haven't been made since W.W. II.
"...any more and your being had..." Robbed.

Re: No4Mk1 Mags

Hi Fozy,

I'm not familiar with Ellwoods Epps. Where are they located at? Do you have any contact info on them?

I'm looking for a BSA-Shirley made one in very good condition (or better). Not haviong much luck so far here on the East Coast.

If any other people know where I could look for one (or 2) it would be a big help.

Thanks Fozy and everyone else too.

Howdy Deltasilver,

What is Tradeex exact website address? Can't find it after attemping different variations of it.

It would be to be able to see what they have in stock.

Do you know of any other vendors who would carry one of this type (BSA-Shirley)?

I ordered a Number 4 mag from Tradex, a replacement for the one in my spare rifle (which mag got 'borrowed' for a competition and convenitnely disappeared: I don't loan him anything again!).

It appears to be a refurb, very nice nonreflective black finish overall, looks much better than the one that got 'borrowed'. It does have a ding in the bottom, but I have a really nice set of punches and a big hammer (I used to work on Harleys), so that is no problem. Other than that, one side has been a tiny bit pushed in but that, also, is fixable. Heck of a lot better than NO mag, I'll say that.

On the whole, I'm pleased and will doubtless be dealing there again in the future (when the next Old Farts' Cheques arrive).

Oh, it's fun!

Could someone clarify this please? I just received a Mag that had a "4" mark on it, assuming its a #4 mag. It clicked in perfectly on my SMLE. I filled it up with spent brass and they seemed to cycle in and out quite well. The brass wasn't fired from my rifle, and they were a little too long, so I could not close the bolt completely, but it seemed to work fine. I'll have to load it up with brass that I fired from my own rifle and test it.
