Lee Enfield MK3 SMLE- info request

Good day,

long story short... I now have my father in-law's 303. from what I can find out its an SMLE No1 Mk3 full wood stock, ISHAPORE made in 1937 in India. I really don't know much about these types and honestly there seems to be too much info out there about Lee Enfield!

I would like to sell it but not too sure where to start asking, some indications are it might be around 5-800 and maybe higher? It seems in great shape to me and I am going to meet with a gun smith tomorrow to see if he can give me an idea as to what condition it should be advertised as and to make sure its in usable condition-it was in the attic for the last 25 year....

The serial number on the receiver, barrel end (I think its the bayonet lug) and bolt handle match but not the magazine.

Since they are from my in-law my wife gets to make the call and she wants to sell them. just curious as to where to start an asking price? as they seem to be a large window and I don't know what makes these worth more or less.

Any info would be appreciated. I did post this in General rifles but it was suggested that I re-post here for better results.

I can’t get your photo link to work but the 500-800 is pretty accurate for a no1mk3 they can command a higher price but that depends on over all condition including bore and head spacing. They can also have more value if the are marked with Canadian ownership (the C broad arrow) or less if the went through the ftr program. There are a lot of contributing factors with lee enfields. I could give you a better estimate but again I can’t seem to get your link to work.
 
Looks decent at the very least, Ishapore's are a touchy subject amongst some folks - reference the thread about the hatred of said manufacturer...

This particular model was made during the area of British rule so it should be relatively exempt from that hatred, but be aware that people still do not like them as much as British or other Commonwealth made SMLEs.

Anyhow, $500 for a quick get me some cash sale, up to say $800 if the bore is in very nice to excellent shape. SMLEs with the magazine cutoff seem to go for a bit more cash, as well as ones with the windage adjustable rear site - and then there are the much more valuable models that still have the original Mk.III configured stocks in-letted for volley sights... You could always talk to Martin at Corwin Arms. ;)
