I've got a question for you Lee-Enfield gurus out there. I've got a No.1 MKIII SMLE with a problem safety. When placed on "safe" it doesn't feel like it is "locking" into place like a normal LE safety. It will prevent the firing pin from dropping. However, once you push it halfway forward, the pin will drop half-way. Not sure if the pin goes far enough forward to fire, but definitely not safe!

I took it apart and found that the safety catch seemed like it was stripped out and wouldn't thread onto the locking bolt properly. Threads on the locking bolt seemd okay. Can I just replace the safety catch or should I replace the locking bolt as well?

Where's the best place to purchase LE parts? Marstar has the safety catch listed at $14.00 & locking bolt at $15.00... Any help, advice, etc...would be appreciated.

Try this gentleman: Russ Wood, Box 368, Blind River, Ontario, P0R 1B0 phone number: 705 356 7614. From his list he sent me, the safety catch is going for: $5.00. The Safety Lever is going for $6.00. He's a nice guy. I would give you my spare assembly I have somewhere, but it's hopelessly lost right now. By the way he charges $10.00 for shipping I believe, but call him anyways. Regards.

What's with the #### image? We have been hacked. Darned slash dot trolls. At least they have chosen a relatively (?) picture.
