lee enfield no 1 mk III

I have a Lee Enfield from the WW1 that was my grandfather in law's. It was sporterised and i want to take her back to its original condition.
The way I see it as best is to buy one that is in original condition and take the full wood and bayonet lug and other parts off of it.
what would you guys do?
Is this going to work??

Parting out a complete, correct rifle to restore a bubba is a bad idea, IMHO. You then have two incorrect, incomplete rifles, instead of one.

Where can you get wood and all the parts, or even better. Where can I get a dissassembly manual?

Numrich gun parts, Springfield sporters have all the parts you need

Springfield Sporters has a kit with all the wood parts and metal bands, etc for about $40 US, but the wood has to be refinished. They have nicer stocks you can buy too for a little more too.

Springfield just bumped their price to $60, which is still quite good for what you get. I spoke with them last week and they told me that's partly because they simply couldn't keep up with the orders! I told them it could not be only my fault
